California’s capital celebrated the grand opening of the new Church of Scientology of Sacramento on January 28, 2012. The dedication ceremony was attended by more than 2,500 Scientologists, guests and city, state and national officials.  Photos of this spectacular new Church of Scientology follow below:

Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center and ecclesiastical leader of the Scientology religion, presided over the ceremonies.  Special guests on hand to commemorate the opening were Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson; Greater Sacramento Urban League president David DeLuz; Interfaith Council of Greater Sacramento president Jon Fish; California State Assembly Member Mike Gatto; and International Faith-Based Council president and founder Bishop Ron Allen.

Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board Religious Technology Center and ecclesiastical leader of the Scientology religion, officiated at the Church of Scientology of Sacramento dedication ceremony. In signifying the importance of this new Church, Mr. Miscavige said: “The dedication of this new Church signifies a solemn pledge. It’s a pledge to employ the full measure of what lies within those walls on behalf of this City. It’s a pledge to make a world of which we can be proud. A world without insanity, criminality, illiteracy and immorality; a world where the able can prosper, where honest beings have rights and where all are free to rise to greater heights. That’s our responsibility as Scientologists. And, yes, a responsibility we willingly embrace.”

In his salutatory address, Mayor Kevin Johnson welcomed and acknowledged the Church for demonstrating its commitment to the city: “Sacramento is the most diverse city in the country, and your church and what you guys are doing is diverse. This building here is not just a building for you—it’s a building for the community.  It’s a building that will help us revitalize this downtown area. The Church of Scientology came to us and said, ‘Look, we want to help. We want to take a historic building and preserve it and renovate it and make it a masterpiece for the downtown area showcase.’ We really wanted to transform Sacramento into the greenest region in the country and a hub for clean technology and you folks are helping to make that a reality. You have done your part.”

 

2,500 Scientologists, guests and officials flooded into the new Church following the dedication ceremony on January 28, 2012. The reception opens onto the Public Information Center presenting the beliefs and practices of Dianetics and Scientology, as well as the life and legacy of Founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Reception:  The Church of Scientology reception now welcomes all visitors, where they may receive introduction to Dianetics and Scientology.

Public Information Center:  The Church of Scientology Public Information Center welcomes visitors from morning to night, inviting them to learn about Dianetics and Scientology and the many humanitarian programs sponsored by the Church.  Visitors are invited to tour at their leisure and return as often as they like.

 

The Chapel:  All Scientology congregational services and ceremonies are convened in the stunning Chapel, including Sunday Services open to all.

Introductory Seminars: The Church provides evening and weekend introductory seminars presenting fundamental principles of Dianetics and Scientology.

 

The Purification Center:  The Purification program was developed to free individuals from the mental and spiritual ill effects caused by drugs. The Purification Center features a painted glass mural depicting the city’s landmark Tower Bridge and Capitol Building.

 

The Academy:  In the Academy, Scientologists study to become auditors (spiritual counselors).

The Office of L. Ron Hubbard:  The Office of L. Ron Hubbard, traditional in all Churches of Scientology, stands in honor of the Founder and symbolizes that this Church is true to his writings and ideals.

Historic Marquee Entrance:  The Church meticulously preserved the Ramona Building, restoring its Spanish Colonial Revival features to their original glory, including the characteristic stucco, ornamental glazed brick and terra cotta tiles, and decorative iron accents.

The Church of Scientology of Sacramento:  The Church’s new home downtown at the crossroads of 6th and J Street, Sacramento’s historic main thoroughfare, stands just blocks from the State Capitol and is one of the city’s most prominent architectural landmarks. When the building was dedicated on January 28, 2012, it signified the preservation of a Sacramento treasure for generations to come.

New L. Ron Hubbard Website Videos Highlight Historic Churches of Scientology

The Church of Scientology International just launched a fully-redesigned and video-packed, interactive website to educate the world on the life of the Founder of the Scientology Religion, L. Ron Hubbard. 

Among many of the engaging features of the site – which prominently features an interactive timeline of Mr. Hubbard’s life, are video excerpts describing some of the newly-restored historic Churches of Scientology, which have been made into public museums in their respective locations.

Specifically:

Original Founding Church of Scientology in Washington, D.C.:

Of course, as a DC-metro-area resident, and long-time parishioner of the Founding Church of Scientology, this one has the most significance to me.  Restored to the original state it was in when L. Ron Hubbard was the organization’s first Executive Director, the location features the original duplicating equipment used to produce and disseminate L. Ron Hubbard’s lectures to the world, and the studies & offices where he first researched & codified such massively fundamental basics as the Scientology Organizing Board (now used so extensively and successfully by businesses around the world) as well as the basics of communication, which is such a fundamental of the Scientology religion.

L. Ron Hubbard’s Camelback House in Phoenix, Arizona:

Next is the L. Ron Hubbard Camelback House in Phoenix, Arizona – a significant Scientology landmark as it is where L. Ron Hubbard researched much of the fundamental principles now covered in the essential Scientology texts of Science of Survival, Creation of Human Ability, and a number of landmark lectures.

 

Original Church of Scientology on Fitzroy Street in London:

In 1956, the Fitzroy Street building was acquired by the Hubbard Association of Scientologists International (or HASI – the original membership organization of Scientologists) and served as L. Ron Hubbard’s London office and headquarters for Scientology organizations of the time.

 

L. Ron Hubbard’s Linksfield Ridge House in Johannesburg, South Africa:

And last, but most assuredly not least, is L. Ron Hubbard’s restored house in Joburg, South Africa.  LRH always had an intense love of Africa and Africans, and this is so intensely evident when you watch what he did during his stays in Johannesburg.  The amount of research he executed and care that he took while there is staggering, exemplified by this building’s use as a meeting ground for local dignitaries with whom LRH pushed forward a message of freedom for all Africans, to the research he put into workable techniques for uplifting the self-worth and dignity of Africans and the rest of the world by extension.

Each of these houses is open for tours 7 days/week, so I encourage you to visit them!  And if that’s an impossibility, view the videos on the new L. Ron Hubbard website, which will give you a taste of the amount of care and devotion Mr. Hubbard had toward the bettering of man.
